The things beneath my very sky
Are things that can only be seen with eyes
But of course, some people may despise
The very things beneath my sky
Lots of leaves
Upon the trees
Hummingbirds and honeybees
But some things on the Earth below
Can be a lot farther than most people can go
Buried underneath the snow
Even if there's no snow, I know
Everything is still pretty
A small little house with a small family
People, rabbits, dogs and cats
Many many cats, in fact
Everything upon the ground
No matter surrounded by silence or sound
Will always be seen with eyes
The beauty many people may despise
Every little thing that lies
Right beneath these very skies

I love the beat on this poem. I love the message that it sends: We only have one earth and although some people don't treat it like they should it is the responsibility of those who can take action to do so because our earth is beautiful and we only have one chance.
