I didn't know her, not very well
Death surrounded her and I couldn't tell
Been years since we talked, laughed and hugged
I didn't know her well
Grammie was funny woman
She love to listen to music, mostly country
I can't tell you much about her, nor many memories
Death surrounded her and I couldn't tell
Tears fall now and I don't know why
How can I miss someone I hardly knew?
Did I truly love her and noticed what was around?
Do I only feel guilty for what I didn't do?
I love her now, and remember her my way
She is at peace now, in Heaven
She'll be there safe, safe from sadness
With her husband, my dad, and her great-grandson
My grammie I love, I love her
No more tears, only dashes to remember her by
Not the date she was born, or the date of her death
The time inbetween that dash is what I mean
All the Christmas's past, and Thanksgiving's too
I wasn't her favorite
But for now it will do!
