Peering through the frosted pane
To see the ever tormented stain,
Of love on one's heart.
To explain it broken, it's hard to start.
You feel so torn, because
Your heart's been worn
On your sleeve to show
How much you care for someone.
When that love is lest returned,
You feel as if the heart's been burned.
Ash by ash, you must rebuild
Until that hole at last is filled.
That trust regained at last.
A shadow pulled over a broken past.
Like my souls bandage you've come.
And made me ever new.
Shattered over and over
Into more pieces than clover.
Picked up and pieced together,
Just to be dropped, again to gather.
Weary to let the hole heal,
I let you in and it became real.
You're the queen of masons.
You've patched the hole, for ever more.
