haiku - reflection

frozen pond ...
autumn leaves fall
into themselves

Author notes

Reflection haiku are difficult to write but seem to bring out some of the best images. A good idea for the contest! Thanks.

Wow...this is an amazing image; I love the juxtapostion of autumn leaves and a frozen pond--warm versus cold, season melding into season. As always...masterful

    YES !
this haiku blew me away the moment I read it ...
I agree that this was a really, really difficult prompt ... I see wittiness and experience in silent observation at work here ...
the serene scenario created by this powerful image offers more than one dimension of interpretation ... the more I let it soak in, the calmer my mind becomes ...
a meditation in 11 syllables - wisdom compensated,
ready to expand in the reader's heart ...

    thank you

Thank you! I appreciate your extremely kind comment. Your contest prompted me to write, honestly, one of my very best haiku to date. I guess a poet never quite knows where these are going to come from or even when they're going to come. Fun stuff. A difficult, enjoyable contest with lots of great entries. Take care.

    Serene observations

on a crisp frosty morning. I like this, my mind is outside, still I sit in a room with no windows. I see by your title you're The haikumonk so I was hoping you could tell me if I broke any sacred haiku rules with my entry.....chael It's called Human Nature. And i give a tip of my hat to you.
