We strapped 'em in da rubber boat
'n sent 'em off ta school.
Da house we built was quite remote
but still we thought it cool.
We pushed da kids on down da stream
'n soon we heard 'em yell 'n scream.

We strapped 'em in da rubber boat,
it’s better dan a bus.
Along with 'em we sent a note,
so I don’t see da fuss.
I wrote da  note ta tell da teach
to learnt 'em good deir math 'n speech.

If dey should ever reach the beach.

We strapped 'em in da rubber boat

We weren’t sure if it would float;
those damn kids took da cat.
Da rapids came wit out a doubt
they took da cat 'n he flew out.

    Interesting and fun 'approach' which one feels would make an excellent introduction ... perhaps if expanded fully to a sonnet crown it would convey us over the hills and far away to funny land to be strapped down ourselves ...

    Oh no. The photo stole my attention. It poses so many questions. I didn’t know that cats enjoyed water sports. Is he making a frantic leap for safety or just practising his diving technique.

    As for the poem...well that is just bloody brilliant.
