We used to speak so calm and freely
Of love and all its intricacies,
Safe in the knowledge that our hearts were true,
And we’d face the dangers, just me and you.
Our bed was once our hiding cell,
But now holds the secrets we can’t bear to tell,
Entrapped and alone, we sleep on separate sides,
Curled up together, leading separate lives.

This picture made me think of two lovers who seem together and happy, but are really just 'going through the motions'.
