The night seemed a strange shade of sepia as I
drank in the atmosphere.
I could feel your fingers filling the gaps between
mine, like sign language for,
-I'll never leave you-
[but we all know promises made in the middle
of the night are oft forgot by morning.]
You seemed to swallow the glimmer from my eyes,
& with lips softer than a thousand stars on a
gentle night, you kissed away every hurt that
ever burdened me, every bad thought that ever
plagued me, and that was when I knew that
you would leave me eventually.
I knew the demons would flood back one day,
but it didn't matter for that one moment in time
when the crevices in the corners of my mind were
filled.to.overflowing
with the most delicate silence,
dented and broken only by the sound of our hearts
[racing & stalling.]
My head spun like a merry-go-round as we played
truth or dare with no words
[sometimes body language can say it all]
while you spun your spider web of things
I'll never be able to decipher;
[the intrigue is part of the beauty.]

This is lovely and definitely deserving of a gold trophy! The flow is lovely and the ominosity (if that is a word...) it present especially in the second half of the poem... Darkly beautiful. A nice write. Well done.

Interesting. You've truly intrigued me, which is hard to do in two poems. I hope the next two are just as good. Your second poem earns you a 22 which gives you 42 points so far. Thank you for entering and the best of luck to you. Kahy

Great write here, very expressive and deep.
It's anonymized your name. If you just tell me your nickname (i.e. Sammii, Shelly etc).
I like the number 11 as well. -
This is amazing. I love it. There's so much talent in the way that you piece words together. This is so beautifully written and I can feel the emotions coming out of it.
