Flames of Passion

While under your watchful gaze I was reborn

Held in your sweet embrace my heart was torn

Yet out of the mounds of ashes there came a spark

The temptress of knowledge reveals truth in the dark

She said that we would arise from the flames of passion

Though the future is unknown and the past is not forgotten

The nature of life itself is like a simple game of chance

You doubt you'll ever win but still you do the dance

Faith made me a fool so now I question everything

Even the love I treasure but fear may be evolving

I cling tight to hope and pray that it will last

The energy it takes is running low and fast

Before I go to rest in the wake of suffering....

I shall make my final vows to you my darling

I will be the foundation that supports you

I will be the air that breathes life in you

I will be the angel that looks after you

I will love you and only you....

For the rest of my life

A very poignant and most heartfelt love poem here, with some very fine lines:
I cling tight to hope and pray that it will last
The energy it takes is running low and fast...

I liked this poem a ton!!

Probably the most passionate declaration of devotion I have read in a long time. Reads well, flows well, and presentation is excellent.
