Wishing Under A Hawthorne Tree

Missing image

Wishes always come true
in fairytale dreams,
in the land of magical
fairies & elves, it seems;

I only wish my friend
is still waiting for me,
to dance in happiness
'neath a Hawthorne tree.

Author notes

Inspired by this 14th Century Verse:

Icham of Irlaunde
Ant of the holy londe
Of Irlande.

Gode sire, pray ich the,
For of saynte charite,
Come ant daunce wyt me
In Irlaunde.

In Modern English:

I am of Ireland
And of the holy land
Of Ireland.

Good sir, I pray thee,
For the sake of charity,
Come and dance with me
In Ireland

I'm not so sure, but I sure hope so!! I don't know the author of the original verse, but if you find out, I'd be interested to learn, Ms. Poetry Teacher. Take care, and thanks again... You made my day!! Peace, love & hugs, Cyn xx

    I will wait for you!!!!!!!!
My God Cyn don't ever doubt that.

Thank you so much for this beautiful poem you composed. The main reason i love you as a dear friend is the compassion you hold in your heart for others, you have more than prepared yourself for those wings when you get to heaven.
The girls have been singing your praises, they loved you and said you were a brilliant host, I can't wait unitl you get here to Ireland to see where Molly lived and how she had inspired you to follow here steps home for her.
Thanks for this lovely piece of writing.

Also thanks to you and the girls for the lovely boutque of flowers, cream and lilacs with a back drop of green is so soothing and welcoming..

    Dolores xxxx
