Salvation

Jaded feelings, jaded memories -
Allowed my heart to bleed, then brick it over.
Soon a saint came and blew through walls I thought strong,
Over my protests, over my cries.
Never have I known such sweet salvation.

Author notes

For Jason, who saved me from lonliness and desolation.

Sorry for the late reply; I've been a bit under the weather. Thanks again for your kind words. I am just catching up on other poet's writes, so I'll be off to check on what you've been up to lately. And you are correct, there are no walls true love cannot blow apart.
      Blessed Be,
      ***Rae***

How I envy you for finding your Jason. I really wish you well in life as I have been reading some of your writes and see that life has not been kind - until now and I pray it stays that way for you. Sheila

  • Wow Rae, this is beautiful...

Such a beautifully penned dedicative accrostic...
So much emotional depth expressed so wonderfully with such powerful imagery in so few words...
Its like a storm or a hurricane & he becomes the calm at its centre, does that make sense?
Anyhoo, love it... Keep up the good work...
    Well done!!!

It makes veru much sense; That is exactly what it felt like the first time he blew through those walls (once the dust settled)/
      Thank you!

I am glad, too. He's the closet to God anyone has ever brought me.
Take care of yourself, you over-worker!

  • Pure genius indeed

I can't understand how some poets on this site who's work has little or no depth of feeling recieve so much attention and admiration, while others like yourself who are obviously so much more talented just get one or two comments. Honestly there is no justice in the world or people must be blind or something. I just can't understand it. Respect, Jimmy.

I don't know if I'm all that good, but I do have a theory: teenagers and groups of middle aged women who all know each other. They comment on each other's poetry, moon over their talent, etc., etc.,. I've been here long enough to recognize it and it makes me ill! It's so obvious. That's why I didn't want you giving up. There are a lot of fair, talented poets on this site who do comment and find the 'clicks' amusing. Thank you for that compliment!

I'm Gnostic, a spiritualist, but Jason, the subject of the poem is my hubby!
      Thanks for reading.
