A gray but good-enough day, in the twilight of a morning
That follows just-enough sleep, and has only a dull ache of being 44.
A surprise guitar lesson comes into my plans, which I gratefully accept,
But I now need to practice, and I still need to eat.
I still need to get some coffee, and to pass the morning's dirt.
The cat's devilry has just been discovered; he chewed up my wife's shoe.
She's left that pair of pumps out for months, why now?
Our looming financial crash is like a piano being lifted overhead.
The air is thick with stress, this year is dry and graceless for her.
I promise to replace her favorite pair today, then shuffle off to get my axe.
Author notes
I should get points for doing more than reserving a space for later. After all, the theme is "What I'm doing right now", not "What I'm doing after I've decided to tell you what I'm doing".
