Bluer skies
and redder eyes
who knew I'd one day get caught up
in your web of woven lies
Standing on the edge of the world
trying to remember
what it felt like to fly
but with every fall
is another wasted try
and every step
takes me back in time
a memory
before the cries.
broken down
a bitter disquise
studdering, stumbling, suffering
improvise.
stuck in the lows
that followed the highs
you'd never know
you'll never realize
the things you leave behind
the pointless goodbyes
wash away the facade
and all I've got are gray skies
puffy eyes
remnants of your lies
and the scars that linger
from my wasted tries.

JUDGED!
I like the assonance in this, it flows well and reads easy, wonderfully penned poet
All the best to you in the contest

Oh.
Um.
Nice? -
I really like this. I can feel the betrayal and hurt you feel. Probably cause this poem is about Sam, I think. It fits her anyway. But yeah. Good poem
