Tell me who I am.
Am I the friend who holds your hand?
Am I the one to understand
What's inside you?
Tell me what I want.
Is it something of my own
Or is it just to tag along
there at his side?
Tell me what I show.
Am I afraid to let him know
Because if I let him go
He won't come back?
I'm not sure if who I am
Is who I appear to be.
I think perhaps I'm hiding me
For sheer convenience.

Wonderful, as always...parallel structuring works so well to emphasize a point, and the ending couplet strikes me at home. You put the frustrations of relationships into words so much more eloquently than I have ever been able to. This poem proves that keeping it simple is sometimes the best way to evoke complex feelings.
