There is nothing left here.
Ice freezes my world,
Steals all color,
Numbs all life.
Grey is all I see.
Grey is all I am.
Time slows...trickles to a stop,
Ebbs away, like your life did.
My lips are frozen--no words left to say.
I tremble without moving--transparent to all else.
This cold reaches past skin,
Past bone,
Past heart.
It surrounds me like water, burning like venom,
But gives me hellfire for heat--
Not your arms around me.
I can't stop shaking.
Why did you have to leave?
Author notes
Dedicated to Trevor Deck...
Rest in peace, darling. Maybe you have a better chance of doing it-- I know I cannot rest peacefully without you here...

A very sad piece you have written here, it has a very good rhythm and flow. Your language is relatively simple but comes across with strength and intensity.
A good job.
Thanks for entering and good luck in my contest. -
