Finding Peace

As twilight creeps upon me,
I taste the pasty pudding of death.
Yet thoughts I recreate
pronounce my will, strong and triumphant.
Those shadows caste upon me
may decay my flesh and bring me to dust.
But my soul shall carry thru.
No pardon asked, I'll not shiver or cower,
but welcome my new beginning.
No promised virgins await me.
Nor no lies from hungry lips.
Just a joy beyond the body,
As the master of love embraces my gracious soul.
And forever I shall be in peace.

    Wonderful Poem Bob!!!!!!

You express your deep thoughts quite well in this poem. It is true, death is nothing to fear. There will be such peace compared to the sadness and chaos on earth here. So many times lately and the past two years I wished he had taken me and not my son. But I trust He had His reasons. Thank you for sharing this. I did enjoy reading it. Hugs and Smiles, Bless You always. Sandy

This is beautiful. Many are so afraid of death that they live their life trying to run and hide from the idea. True peace is found by someone who recognizes that death is the end of one chapter and the beginning of another, and works to understand the ramifications and uses it as motivation (as one who recognizes that there is limited time to make a difference on this Earth in a most direct way, and cherishes each minute as a chance to make a difference.)

  • A Paean To Peace!

"Finding Peace" is a Soul's cry for non-material, un conditional Love which is only of the "I" but only attained through the "Me."

A universal cry to dis member the Soul from its prison and to find the "Promised Land" of Ichor in the Realms of the One ~~ forgotten in this state we call
    Human being.

"Finding Peace" is the One blinding light of Passion all seek to find and called
    by many, Home.

With gratitude and peace to the author of "Finding Peace" for my morning cup
    of Self-Solace.

    Stay
    for ever

One of your most beautiful writes bob

  • A new beginning!

Yes! I'd love to talk to you sometime about what that means to you exactly. I'd like to think we were on the same par about this but I've learned not to make assumptions. A joy in the spirit with the Master of Love...now that's what I call true peace & it's not going to mean playing harps endlessly on a cloud! Eternity it happy pursuit. Yippee!
    Great write here.

I'm also sixty-two and think about things like this also. The last two lines pretty much sum things up.

    Amen...

now you're starting to make sense...you're a very versatile person, never failing to surprise...
it's a gift to be able to separate
all the truth from all the lies
even if it's, just the way you see it,
from within your own soul's eyes
for as old as we may grow we are
    all children in disguise

    simple is sublime

When you get there, can you please let my know what it's like! No really, this is quite an inspirational write; the no-frills kind of uncluttered belief in the afterlife. Just finding peace. Very good...alby

  • everybody needs peace... i like how this is... there is no fear of death, just a content ascent, if you will. i had to laugh though at the line;the pasty pudding of death.

  • Outstanding

So many people are frightened of death but if you have faith then it does offer peace. This for me is a poem about that faith, about facing the inevitable with a brave face and embracing the unknown. I wish I had your courage.

A different take on death. I liked this piece, but especially liked the last two lines. You have quite a way with words that touch a person. Excellent write! All the best to you always.
