Double Edged Sword

I miss...
The way you used to smile,
the chocolate-ness of your skin
so smooth.
The looks you'd give me,
that made my heart race.
The dreams you pushed,
into my heart.
The rebel that made you,
everything & more.
I miss...
The mocking tones you gave,
as you said "a heart as cold as ice".
The disbelief when something I said,
could actually be true.
How you believed,
in your superiority over me.
The love that should've been mine,
but never could be.
This my double edged sword,
of honour I plunged,
straight to my heart,
to sever us once & for all.

Author notes

So I still have to see him. At least its only once a week. We're still not talking, doubt we ever will. And yes, he did once tell me that I had a heart of ice. He laughed it off as a joke at the time.
I guess I wanted to try and illustrate here that love is a combination of the good and bad, but you really have to weigh out those sides. If the bad is too insurmountable, then you have to be the one to make the decision to let it go, like I did. In fact, I probably waited just a little too long as damage was done (first time I'd felt love like that). But those with experiences I'm sure know what I'm talking about.
Enjoy. :-)

I know the feeling but no one can be superior than you are, no one deserves to feel that way. I loved this piece.
    "The looks you'd give me,
    that made my heart race.
    The dreams you pushed,
    into my heart"
    I love these four lines!
