☆That's Why I Love You

Her eyelids slowly open to reveal the lightened stage, filled with random scenery pieces from performances of fictional storytales to horrifying realistic dramas... an aray of colors flutters the lights surrounding her, lifting her fingers above a bright star, hoisted into the flies, disappearing into the darkness engulfing the ceiling. All around her, music plays, singing out with a blissful desire to inveigle her.. making her head whirl with curiosity, leading to excitement, tumbling down to a terrifying awarness of how alone she had suddenly become...

The colors dissolve into blurs of blacks and whites, swirling her into a symphony of heartache, until a beam of hope split the tornado in half, lifting her up, onto her feet before his face came into view. "Pulchritudinous," she whispered, eyes fixed upon the glitter she saw within the light of his eye. Her face flushed and legs gave out with embarassment, only to land in his supporitve arms. With a turn of her head, their noses brushed a thankful smile onto her face. "I thought I was alone..."

He let a laugh huff from his lips before an eyebrow lifted humorously, followed by an alluring, "Never." A kiss suddenly became planted on her cheek, creating a happy glow to appear about her face as her eyes darted away feverishly; feeling the secure care settle within her heart once more when he spoke again. "Why would you think something like that?"

Her eyes slowly lifted, meeting his once again, twinkling. "Because... I've felt so alone lately.. my heart hurts so frequently and I..." She hushed her voice, trying to keep from sounding pitiful. "It's.. hard to wake in the middle of the night... looking around you to find mere comfort in the pillows surrounding you.. wishing instead they were replaced with-"

Her words were inturrupted by his finger which he had pushed against her lips to close them, "And you say I think too much..."

Happiness rushed to her chest, raising it with anxiety, "I've just missed you so.."

"You're strong aren't you?" he laughed, lifting her chin, helping her take in their surroundings. How they were laying in the flourishing grass of the woods with the midnight stars above them. A summer breeze blew through the trees, musically conducting the leaves of the trees and bushes to harmonize with the acoustic vibration of her heart beat.

Tears began to clutter the edges of the girl's eyes, threatening her cheeks with a grave tremble. "I enjoyed hearing how you enjoyed our time together... hearing how we shared a similar pleasure in one another's company.. How we explored with one another, talked, even simply laid in silence."

"What's wrong? You seem so sad, where'd that smile disappear to?" he whispered, looking down at her with such a dear confused expression.

A laugh escaped her throat as her face broke out in a smile, releasing a single tear to drip down her hot cheek. "I'm not sad... I just.. wish this were true... I know I'm dreaming."

The boy smiled and gave a shrug before he looked to the sky, nodding his head towards the north star, "Make a wish-" She raised her head to gaze into the glittering-white sky "-the stars are out."

"I already have," she whispered, smiling back towards him with a playful smirk. "You're here aren't you?"

"In a dream," he reminded her, tapping her nose with his finger; when she friskly grasped it, turning it back towards him to force him onto his back against the grass; herself landing slightly on top of him like a warm blanket.

"In a dream... yes..," she choked as another solitary tear leapt from her deep eyes to land upon his collar as she kissed his lips. "But, that's.. enough for me, till our next meeting."

He laughed, "You're very odd.. Talking like this, and dreaming like this." He shot her a quick analytical look. "And you'll wake up in the morning... then what?"

"I'll write about it.. hoping that it'll show how much I miss you...," her voice raised slightly to emphasize the amount of playfullness in her tone. "Possibly creep you out to know how much I think about you?" She laughed. "I can do it."

"Your memory's not the best..," he whispered. "And you're a bit emotional..."

"But I'm trying my-"

"You talk too much, and think too little.."

"I'm not-"

"Do you have to do all that you do?" he asked softly with such a careful loving air enclosing them. "You stirr up so much trouble.. why?"

The girl let a sigh out to take in a breath of confidence. "I choose what I choose because I feel it's right.. even if it gets you into a bit of trouble... and I believe if you don't do what you feel is right, you're not, being your true self.. right?" she whispered, lifting her eyes to level with his once more. "I... try my hardest.. for others and... for myself.."

His smile shimmered at her as he leaned in closer, cupping her cheek within the palm of his hand as he breathed the words, "And that's why I love you..."

Author notes

I awoke at 3:50am to write this... now.. I sit here at 4:18am, finally done writing out my dream about a boy. Every teenager has it hard, has moments of blissful happiness, and depressive loneliness, but there's always some light to shoot through that tornado to pull you out long enough to look at your stars and see how you can change them. =]

Written... very early in the morning, critics appreciated but please, be gentle? Thank you very much.
