Sleep

Sleep, my beautiful angel, sleep.
Rest your eyes as if at thine father's feet.

Your beauty it so astounds me,
As you rest there in solemn comfort.
A reminder it will always be,
Trust your heart, and never hurt.

Rewind now, to that lovely night.
As I drove home, in tearful fear,
That you may never again be in my sight;
But to my heart, I'll hold you near.

Everything I've every wanted, I've found
Somehow has shown up in you.
Seeing your beauty and care, sends my heart abound.
Around thee, I'll ne'er be blue.

As I sit here, watching you lashes flutter,
In deep and thoughtless dream.
I hear my prayer, that night I had uttered,
And let flow through evening's stream.

I feel God's hand upon my heart,
Telling me to not let go.
For to give chance to never part,
My love for you I must truly show.

So sleep, gorgeous angel, sleep.
Rest your weary eyes at thy father's feet.
