An angel you claim you want to be?
You must not know the tragedy
Found with the noble, selfless name,
The emptiness that partners fame.
For angels aren't allowed to love;
They must let go before they're shoved.
Their arms can comfort, never hold.
Alone they always face the cold.
Their wings which bring such peace and hope
Serve as their own teth'ring rope
That holds them to their duty pure,
Another's hardships to endure.
The task is hard but so required
That it consumes all that are hired.
Thus, I shall always play this roll
Despite its very costly toll.
Author notes
This is a re-write of a piece I wrote a few years ago, by the matching title of "Angel Training 101." Upon re-reading the peace, I decided not all of it held the weight I wanted, and I think this edit contains more of the original gravity behind the message.
Please tell me what you think

Very good and very fitting for you I think. I don't think I ever read the edit to compare but I like this one. I think I feel the gravity you wanted... I wouldn't change anything ...
