Remembering the Good Times

I knew you well

Behind those eyes of green
Was pain
But also determination
And grit
Enough for many.

Your strength
Strengthened me
Your determination
Helps me walk these lonely miles
The memory of your smile
Even in pain
Will get me through these
Long, lost, lonely days

Know that when it rains
It is our tears falling
But when the sun shines
I will look to the heavens and smile
And remember the happiness
You brought to this life

Remembering
The Good Times

I think this poem stands very strong as it is...but that's my opinion! I was really impressed with it upon reading it, and it had my attention right away with the eyes of green line....I'm a green-eyed brunette. Anyway, this was a sad/soothing poem. It has good memories, but it's always a sad thing to have that sense of loss. My favorite line was this one:

    "Know that when it rains
    It is our tears falling"

That was just beautiful. I know it will live with me now. Great writing!!

I found this poem to be rather sad but love the fact that you seem like you don't regret it. lovely piece. I really enjoyed this

  • It is very sad that you no longer have that person but I can tell you were glad to have them while you did and that you don't regret that love. Very beautiful piece of art!
