If I could write...
I would write
about how fabulous
life really is.
If I could read...
I would tell
grandiose
stories of children
who never cried...
Daughters who
never hugged
their Mom's as they
passed away...
Fathers who never
abandoned their
children...
of women who never
felt the sting of abuse.
If I could sing,
I would sing the
words of praise,
where the world
wasn't in peril,
people never
were stricken
by sickness,
worlds that were
never seperated
by war
If I could dance,
I would dance
the glorious love
of nature, of people
of life.
If I could write,
I would publish
a million books,
on how to be a successful
human...
I would scribble the secrets
on how to be happy.
But I cannot sing,
I cannot dance...
I cannot read,
I cannot heal,
I cannot learn.
I cannot,
until you teach me.

I haven't slept and felt like writing. I hope this is something good.

Wow! talk about overcoming writers block, I reckon you've done a fabulous job here with this write, and the words you speak are so true to life. I liked how you ended your poem. Great job.

Thank you, I often write in writers block...and usually people tell me that something amazing is penned from it...it amazes me. Thanks for the comment.

You know, this has a rather ‘slam’ flavor to it, if you get what I’m saying is; it resonates an intrinsic simple truth that perhaps could describe how we all have felt at one time or another, at least the empathic few of us.
Peace always,
mj.

Whoa I admire slam artists. Thanks for the awesome comment.

For the most part, I thought you were being ironic with the poem... describing in reverse the darkness of life and the world... but with the ending I'm not so sure that you were doing that at all
gotta love misinterpreting!
But in any case, I thoroughly enjoyed reading it.
Hope you get some sleep soon.

I don't really know what I was doing either, but that's the beauty of writing on no sleep! :-D
