Waiting in This Moment

I will abandon time
to yesterday,
when the face of the clock
was still smiling,
and the hands
        still moving.

A time when
the smile on your face
was still there,
and your hands on my body
        still caressed.

Where have you gone?

This is so sad, but elegantly penned! I'm bookmarking this to study why it works so well. I think it takes exceptional talent to write a tangible image with few words. Peace.

  • I really like this poem. i like the word abandon. its a very good poem. i like the clock thing. good luck in the contest
