Asteroid love,
I'm thinking this fire's not
working when these
near
misses are breaking my
heart. I'm thinking, the terrain's too rocky for this
amateur
lavender love of mine, and I'm thinking,
this hurts.
Are you coming for me, or will my
clouds
pass you by? We can meet on
nine
if you'd like; cloud nine for the
faint-hearted and the
feared, but your rocks are
set. It's funny how
free you are,
when you're right on
course. I pelted
pebbles to dislodge you, but you
dodged them like the
plague and spat on my
lavender flames. I
bet you these shoots would retire to
stone, and you told
me that fire
lights alone; I lit
a match, and you
fled
with pebbles
catching your heels.
I'm thinking you're
just a
star now. I'm thinking I
haven't quite
thought in a while, and the gold dust went straight to my
brain to
bed. I never meant to
confuse you for my fallen
wish, but the glitter was
flying. It's
asteroid love, and it's
here.
So keep dodging my pebbles,
star, and my lavender
nothing, because nothing's
done.
I'm nowhere near.
