I remember that day on the bus
we were sheltered from the rain
Heather said she had something to tell us
and she shared her pain
All of us listened to her
she said I love you guys
None of us could ever remember
seeing tears in her eyes
She was a friend to everyone
not just our little click
She made our lives so much fun
and now she is sick
She wouldn't let us feel sorry
I want you all to know
Please be here for me
that's how I want to go
She said life is for the living
and I am not gone yet
Soon she had us laughing
in the rain we all got wet
As we stood at her graveside
and tears began to pour
We could no longer hide
our feelings anymore
She always will be with us
although I still feel the pain
From that day on the bus
I'm laughing in the rain

the simplicity of each line, devoid of imagery and flat out written emotions, gives this piece, in a way, a lot of pictures to be imagined by the reader, and a lot of feelings to be felt, at the reader's discretion. and I want you to know that you captured it; the essence of this poem. and I love the title, it's one of the best because not only is it terrific, but it actually fits the poem well.
