Fish Out of Water

I was lost in a great ocean once again,
then you came along and seemed to fit in.
You stayed with me, and never let me drown,
The current pulled and tugged to pull us apart,
but I didn't budge, because I trusted my heart.

The current must have been too strong,
or maybe somewhere we went wrong.
The water splits into two different paths,
as we swim our separate ways, I had to look back,
no one was behind me, it was just a shadowy black.

They say there are plenty of fish in the sea,
but I know you're the only one for me.
Without you I'm like a fish out of water;
I hope you throw me some kind of line,
because I think I'll drown if you aren't mine.
