Dear Women,
As a male, I will do the following.
* Support in all ways the right to equality for you, including voting for equal pay, 'truth in payment', paid maternity care, etc
* Will take a certain amount of 'all men are bastards' as comical jesting, as long as you realise I will return fire.
* Do chivalrous things, where appropriate, not as a sign of your inferiority, but because I want to do them for you. If I pay for a meal or a drink, open a door, or give you my coat, it is because I want to.
* I will support your endeavours in any field of education, career, path in life.
* In all and any case of discrimination (with evidence) I will support you 100%, even burning my underwear if need be.
* I understand that we are, biologically, different. This does not make either of us better, however.
* In all situations, I will treat you equally, with respect, as an intelligent individual. I will also endeavour to not be over sexual towards you or others whilst in mixed gender company. (eg "Gawd look at her rack").
* Will stand by your side against other males if any of the above come under question.
-----------------------
However, I will not support the following:
* Some females/feminists (not all) attacking males based on our gender. For years you fought generalisation and stereotyping of your sex, do not return with the same.
* I cannot support the 'extra' support given to females in some cases. What I mean is, if 2 people present for a job and both are equally skilled, I do not support giving the job to a female to 'make up numbers'. All positions, all jobs, all outcomes, for ANYONE, should be based on individual merit. Not on the colour of their skin, their religious upbringing, or what falls between their legs.
* Whilst I do not wish to make light of the subject of sexual assault, I, as devil's advocate, must insist on innocent until proven guilty. I refer especially to a recent call that any football (Rugby League) player ACCUSED of sexual assault be stood down until cleared. More generally, I support strict sentencing for sexual assault on ALL members of society, but only after being found guilty.
* I will not support 'because she's a woman' argument when people of the 'fairer' sex succeed or fail at something.
* I will not agree to statistical 'evidence' being 'proof' that there is discrimination in a work force. For example, if someone says 90% of politicians are male, therefore there's discrimination, I will NOT agree. I am a male nurse. Male nurses make up about 25% of the nursing workforce and I have never been told 'you can't do that job', but using the above logic, I must have faced discrimination.
* I reserve the right to declare the 'Brest Cancer Awareness" type campaigns sexist until they acknowledge MALE BREAST CANCER. It's not a large percentage, but breast cancer does effect some men, and therefore it's not a 'woman's health problem' alone.

I as a female am glad to read something like this, for if all are treated equal, is should be on everything. And yes.. breast cancer effects all, male and female alike.

Thx for the replies. It's sort of a work in progress. I want to try and generalise the 'specific' points I covered, mostly in the negative.

This shows awesome amounts of thought! I like the way you have both a supportive section & a section that details where the line should not be crossed. I should also mention that I agree with most of what you say here. Scratch that. I agree with it all. I'm so glad you shared! I'm bookmarking this.
