Mirror of yesterday

Dark frame peers
into the past,
gazing through blue eyes...
remembering a year ago,
the today
I thought would never arrive.
winter swallows my pride
reminding me of failure
as i cry,
it doesnt care.
Upon the computer
I stare.
Pressing buttons of protest,
searching through fields
of no where.
Again, I pray.
Does he hear me?
Desparatism swoops me over,
and I plea,
calling upon the media
for help,
seaking advice from those
who know more,
or claim they do.
Tears swell in the night
as skepticism settles in,
unsure of tomorrow.
I can't give in,
I just can't give up!
Doubt is not an option
anylonger.
13 years of half-belief
never to be accepted.

Today,
all doubt has rest,
and the reward has come.
Today,
I stand proud as the image
in the mirror no longer
stands alone,
it is accompanied,
and the sadness has gone.
Today,
I begin living.

  • Wooow..
Thatw as an incredibly powerful ending.

    Today,
    I begin living.

    Loved it!

And then to read that you'd found your son... I couldn't think of much greater joy...
I relate a little... I found my biological siblings after 13 years too...(or they found me...) Only one speaks to me now, the other just couldn't let go of the past.

I really, really hope you guys stand strong (whatever the circumstances were) and have a great and happy life!

    So happy for you!
