Standing at the open door
Looking upon the secretive world with anger
at a man who calls himself a valiant soldier fighting a violent war
Seeking vengeance for a crime that never should have taken place
Behind you is the former challenges that you seek to forget
The moments that visit you in sleep with persistent frequency
You've been searching for victory in this battle you've waged within yourself
Hiding behind some false hope of a world without judgements and favouritism
Standing at this open door gazing upon the shell of a man
I realise now all that we had is finished
I have lost you to this unforgiving land.

So much truth here. I would have never guessed this came from a word bank and a pic. Excellent penning. Best wishes,

The evils of conflict without understanding the true meanings of the so called enemy and the real intentions of our so called leaders becomes a disappointment when we learn the truth for life is stranger than fiction and it hurts to know we are following the wrong truths..it is no wonder we become disalusioned and trust nobody in our melancholy ..your insightful poem reflects these emotions ..good one poet
