He’s more than likely not thinking,
“Go with the flow, a-whistling”,
“Instead of smiling and winking,
Pull a tough face and get stuck in!
Life’s too short for standing around,
There’s a chance there for you to win,
Take it, or miss life's best turn round.”
Author notes
The best advice I can give you, since I'm not religous, would be that often, people end up where they are because they took an opportunity when it mattered most. Clearly, you're in some discomfort about your situation, which is understandable. My advice is: - Don't think about how you've slowed down in life, think about how you can get back into it, and find yourself a purpose again!
Everyone can make something of themselves with some elbow grease...

If people go out looking to do something big, it's tougher than if they have a smaller goal. Starting small means you can eventually hit a bigger goal. So I'd say that just getting into the job market, for example would be a first goal. then promotion in that job. Then getting a good reference, and moving to a different firm that (just say) pays more for example. If your dream was to spread the teachings of god, why not look at being an R.E teacher or something like that?
