Ramsey

I went to the pound to have a dog put  down, there was no hope for her so I had no choice.  As I was walking by the cages to leave, a big orange tiger cat put his paws out to me.  My heart melted.   I   found out his information, he was 6 mths old, declawed and castrated.  He had just been brought in that morning as the lady who owned him was going in for surgery  and  couldn't take care of him after.   He was a manx cat.

What I remember most about him, besides him weighing 27 pounds when he grew to adult, is when you did something wrong, especially the kids or the dog, he would  slap, across the face or leg or what he could reach.  He also yowled quite loudly .

One time my sister was over visiting and suddenly Ramsey started yowling  louder than ever.  We went running  and much to our surp rise, my 1 year lold niece was half way up the stairs~open riser steps~   just as i get there she stood up.  as she did she started going right over backwards. i caught her by her head with my fingers. My sister still says he was our hero cat.

Ramsey  was with us  for five years.  He got cancer and after a few months he was gone.  We miss him still.

    Awesome write here

I think animals are old souls come back to protect us and yes they have a way of choosing us not so much the other way around .My cat Banjoe when he was just getting around came up to my husband in the shop where he worked and lay his head across his shoe .Instantly we fell in love with him and have him still today .

The love for a pet is as deep as for those around us. A beautiful piece showing the love and respect for a creature of God.

Fond memories of an unforgettable friend..Some are life savers as you have shared...I can credit one dog of mine saving me from a rabid skunk, and another from a smoky oven..They can be man's best friend, and truly you have expressed beautifully the bonding, and the loss we experience when they go,.... write, sis!
