When the Heart Speaks, Take Good Notes

Oh how the mighty hath fallen
if they were ever mighty at all.
Their lips speak the words
their eyes are blind to see-
a language we can recognize
but a voice we can never identify.
A life on their knees has made
them too weak to stand.
Abiding by laws but abandoning lives
in a frenzy of loyalties waging.
Meaning is made by those in the making
But they’re not making sense
of the meaning.
Proclamation isn’t truth
and not all you can learn
comes from a book.

I liked this one. I think I understand what you were driving at, and in its context I agree with it, but there are two lines I found especially poignant that I would comment on: "A life on their knees has made them too weak to stand." Would that I had spent my life on knees bent in adoration so that one might stand for me.
