Is anyone out there listening?
It's not just a little thing.
We all must do our part
Hear them calling your heart?
It's not just the other one
This can affect anyone.
In these trying times
Can't we help a childs cries?
Share the burden of this day
Together we can make it okay
Don't leave it for the others to care
Help your neighbor if you dare.
Learn to lean on your neighbor and friend
We will see this hardship to the end.
There is so much more we can do
So much more and it starts with you.

How true - it does start with us, each person individually. And unless we learn to work together, we will never live together peacefully.
nicely done
best wishes in the contest

This is wonderful, I liked the way you put we and togeather, because things are always easyer when you have a helping hand.

I Love...
the positivity in this piece.
because like you say we all need
to help one another. thats how
we've had so much success in this
country until now. Bush was a very
selfish and stupid man in my book.
As a result many followed his bad
example. Thank God for a responsible
leader who cares. Obama Rocks!

a great write with a strong messege, i think one of the worse istakes that people make is to each think that someone else will do something, so much cruelty and pain could be prevented if we ACT not WAIT.
by doing this we can become strong neigbours and friends, from simple things like helping to tidy up if a friend seems overwhelmed with chores to reporting a cruel or suspicious situation. lives are saved this way, even a simple "can i help" can open up a flood of words and tears that could help. for that simple act of kindness shows some that they are not as alone as they may think and coud maybe even be the first step to heal or prevent depresssion or even suicide.
as you can see by my long comment you have placed befor us a very thought provoking write, exelent work

Sage words here, oh, how the world would be such a very different place if only 50% of us heeded these words!!

Moving
You speak of those who don't care but in reality there are many more who do. Cheers, Rod.

I love this, it says so much.

You are right of course. A sense of community and in these times even more so. A sense of caring for more than self reaps a multitude of benefits for us all.Not to mention a personal sense of satisfaction having shown decency for our fellow countrymen.

This is so right now for me. My friends and family have really come through for me in these trying economic times. I would hope that when people read this they will understand that helping somebody without expectation of reciprocation is how it should be. Hold doors open for people, help that person get the item they cannot reach from the shelf in the store. There are many small things we can do to help make this world a better place. We just have to make the effort.
Excellent write.
Peace
