Never My World

Missing image
I rested within you so snug and warmly curled,
Well you considered if this would be my world.
Oh how in the sunshine I would have loved to play,
What made you decide that this would be the day?

All that I wanted was to love you so dear,
What was it in me that caused you such fear?
I tried to reach out, let you know I was there,
Only to be torn from you without a lot of care.

How could you walk away like I was a lost glove,
Couldn’t you have given me to someone else to love?
What did I do to be so utterly dismissed,
When all that I wanted was a hug and a kiss.

I guess to this life, I just didn’t belong,
Contented to listen to your hearts beating song.
I could have been yours, for always to keep,
Now safe in a stone cradle, forever I sleep.

Author notes

As a woman who has desperately wanted a baby for so many years. I have a very hard time understanding how someone could choose to have an abortion for anything other than medical reasons. I mean there are so many people out there desperate to adopt a baby, why not give him/her a chance at life?

I know I have read this before and please refere to my last notes.

Sorrym, hit a button somehow, Loved your words. In bible times, according to law, if two men fighting injured a pregnant woman, and caused the death of her unborn child, there had to be compensation for it's life, and the scriptures also talk about God seeing the formation of the child in the womb. If God sees that, and counts it as life, who are we as puny humans to decide otherwise. It makes me cry to think of all the babies who are thrown away each day.

You actually made me cry. Can I ask is this about abortion or miscarriage? I'm actually speechless. Words cannot describe how this poem makes me feel. Best of luck and thank you for entering

Thank you, I worked really hard on this poem and it was written from my heart on how I feel about this subject. I'm glad you liked it (sorry I made you cry)
This poem was written about abortion, I took that information out of the author's notes as I received a bunch of rude comments from what i can only assume where pro choice people when I first posted it. They certainly had a right to their opinion but they could have said so nicely Perhaps I should just go ahead and put the it back in the author's notes.
