It Takes One

It Takes One Pebble,
To Make an Avalanche.
It Takes One Raindrop,
To Start a Rainstorm.
It Takes One Person,
To Begin a Movement.

Author notes

My school is in danger of closing. We need to find $250,000 (about) to stay open. I wrote this at a meeting (technically for the parents) while I was hearing how The Board of Trustees has been working, the Teachers agreed to pay cuts, Our Principal has been calling a lot of different people.
I go to a Catholic High School in Niagara Falls. The Diocese is losing money, therefore we get less funding. With the amount of people leaving Western New York we don't have a lot of options. We all are looking for things we can do to help. ANY ideas would be helpful.
I cannot let my High School fade like this. It's my favorite place in the world. So much of myself is here. I was thinking about selling my poetry. I don't know how many people will buy it. We were going to write to Oprah. We've been searching out for anyone.

Does it inspire?

I'm sorry to hear about your school. This is a great little piece, if it doesn't do the job well I don't know what will. As for selling your poetry, why not?
I wish you the best of luck regarding your school.
    Thanks for sharing.

If your poem doesn't inspire, then your notes certainly do! I am so sorry about your high school--it must truly be a great school if a 16 year-old boy loves it. I hope you can get some publicity. Maybe write to Catholics in other cities?

The news, alert your local news and have the kids at your school start petitions, have every one sign. also get the parents to call the governors office, he will want to help because he'll want to look like a hero.
