Spring's Aroma

Spring is in my heart and on my mind

Spring's aroma nears; winter was fine,
but I long for scents of Pine,
a gentle breeze to whisper
as it brushes against boughs of Fir,
and a river's soothing flow;
each bringing Spring's magic show.

Spring's aroma nears; winter is done,
and I long for warmth of sun,
pots of yellow Daffodils,
purple Crocus on my windowsills,
and the smell of fresh cut grass
mixed with mint tea in my glass.

Spring is in my heart and on my mind.

    Hoodwinked!

A gorgeous piece that aptly depicts Spring and its beauty, down to the smell.

I'm sorry for the late hoodwink, life has had me all caught up!

Glad to be here to comment, better late than never!

    Hood-wink!

The soft tone of this and interesting rhyme scheme really seemed to capture that gentle feeling of spring for me! Spring is so wonderful especially after a long winter. Yet it seems it went by too quickly this year for me! Summer already?

Nicely written poem. I especially liked the descriptions in the first stanza. Happy hood-wink!

Spring fever, then I love the season of summer to keep enjoying it...God is speaking we are having thunderstorms that are phenomenal. A nice flow and imagery to your poem...I don't want to work, just enjoy all of God's creation. Blessings.

  • Captured!

What a wonderful read to awaken to. I could smell the fresh cut grass. You have painted a beautiful picture with you choice of words.

  • I also love those Aromas!

This is a lovely reminder of the joyful aromas of spring. Spring brings a gift to the nose [especially when we have allergies ] and beautiful sights for the eyes. Thanks for this vision so lovely. All the best in the contest. A pleasing read!

Long ago I was transported from a tropical paradise to a place where it was minus 20 Celsius in winter. I had never seen ice and snow. Ever since I've hated the cold. I never got used to it, never liked it. Thank you for creating and sharing. I with you success in the contest. Take care, precious Muse.

    Mine too.

It also reminds me of a message of hope sent to me when I underwent the most serious of cancer treatment. I had planted tulips in 1985 the year we bought the house. Yet it was in the spring of 2000 that two of them came up. One was white and the other red. I have purple ones planted now for his royalty. To me it was a sign that I would get well.
I wish had claps to give you.
