The lights begin to flicker
Murmurs begin to subside
An eerily magical silence quivers in the air
Anticipation whispers from a muted audience
Igniting fire in the hearts behind the stage
As we turn our bodies inside-out
Exposing our souls to the world
Under alias names
Darkness . . .
It begins
The curtain begins to crank open
A speck of light filters over the stage
Like a wave upon the shore
We are exposed
We are free
We are home.

Very fantastical. Loved where you went with the prompt. And so you may join the finalist list and I will see you in the finals my fellow poet. Thanks for writing such a great piece.
