If it began with laughter
It ended with pain
He promised he wouldn’t look
Then peaked and laughed again.
“Don’t take yourself so seriously”
He spat at her like venom
Three years and he still laughed
To him she was but a phantom
If he met her by coincidence
He lost her unconsciously
She was a joke that lost its humor
A life fading slowly
“I’ll keep in touch”
He promised- it never reached his eyes
She never expected the call
But the laughter was no surprise.
What did you think it was about?
