Fairytales

Once upon a time
In a land far and away
Where men spoke in lyric
And suffering was their song

People awaited the harvest
Hands peppered with toil
Death and unforgiveness
As they harvested fruitless crops

It is in this barren land that
A prince was born
Of no royal ancestry, he took
A throne predestined

But the people could not forget
Their song
The suffering, evil
And unforgiveness

So with swift thought
The strong among them
Singing their song of suffering
Marched him to his death

But this was no ordinary prince
No Cinderella, or sleeping beauty
He awaited no princess charming
No one to rescue him

Instead he followed them
Thinking not of his own life
But of the chance to
Teach them a new song

So as he hung, dying
He looked over them
And with something greater
Than magic, gave them a sweeter song.

What did you think it was about?

    Welcome to Allpoetry

To me, this speaks of Jesus and his crucifixion on the cross. I think it was a very interesting take on the bible story.
