Freedom is never what it seems,
We forget where it came from,
How it was bought with the blood,
Of soldiers who died willingly,
How they sacrificed their lives,
So we could be free,
How far have we come on the blood of the fallen?
To forget what paid for this right to say what we will,
To forget the past and forsake the present,
To judge those who try to do the best they can,
For a nation of people who live free,
Where does it end this foolishness,
To think we know differently when all we can see,
Is what we want and what we think we need,
No thought to what it takes to keep us free,
This gift of our forefathers,
Comes with a price.
We never think about it in times of peace,
And in times of war we whine about cost,
We live free to do as we please,
But not a single person thinks of what it takes,
To keep us free save on man in a office,
Who makes the hard calls,
Honor those who have to make the hardest choices,
The one's we will never have dumped in our laps,
The sole person who holds the gates,
This one poor man who choose to lead,
A nation of the free.
For those of us sitting at home,
The hardest part of our day is what to cook and putting kids to bed,
Who sleep in safety,Thanks to those who made a choice,
To fight and die to keep us free,
And that sole person who says go.
Freedom to walk the nation wide,
To gather in groups to protest this and that,
To call it out from the roof tops about this or that,
To pick up a gun and go target shooting,
This is freedom,With all the things we can do,
And all the things we have never seen,
This is what it means to be free,
There are laws to follow,
They are fair and easy to do,
There is always the chance to travel the world,
We can be who we want to be.
We forget where it came from,
How it was bought with the blood,
Of soldiers who died willingly,
How they sacrificed their lives,
So we could be free,

Author notes
once again I am reminded just how picky we can be.For the man in the white house I pray for you.Our people often forget that the choice's you have to make effect the whole of the nation and whine ages after. We are nothing more then sheep when we don't stop to think about what it take to send our son's and daughters to war.
There is nothing worse then seeing how ungrateful we are en-mass.
