Never Forgotten

You made me laugh today,
There's not much else to say
All the time, when I'm feeling down
You're the highlight of my day, the best kid in town.

I've known you since we were young
You were really annoying, too,
I never knew that we
Would be best friends so soon.

When I picture you, I can't help but smile
You're always there, with those big brown eyes
Vulnerable yet mischievous
Your humor makes me double over, makes me want to fly.

We have a lot in common
It's very true
And truth be told, I would be bored in band class
If it weren't for you.

All we've done together,
I've known you forever.
You're there for me when I'm not in the mood
We joke together with that adolescent attitude.

I know this is a random poem,
But I was thinking of you.
You're my best friend,
And you know it, too.

I hope we stay friends for years on end
'Cause you and me, we're really good friends
Even so, I'll never forget your golden smile
The one that cheered me up at the worst of times.
