Trekking Through Misery

How far must one travel in order to reach the end? From the pain this life inflicts. So your wounds can finally mend.

There is no place to rest. And no one to befriend. You’re somehow not surprised.

For this was a lifelong trend. You’re looking to climb your way out of the hole. Always while trying to defend.

But it never truly happens for you. And deeper in the void you descend. At the bottom while bleeding you feel like Sisyphus rolling the bolder uphill.

Just to watch as it falls again and again. But when you reach the summit. You may feel it was worth it to obtain Zen.

Because sometimes you have to go through hell. In order to reach heaven.

I would like to thank you for taking the time to view and enter my contest.
Contests here on Allpoetry are a lot of fun and I hope that everyone enjoys them.
I will soon be posting a contest for BRONZE only poems. I do hope you will consider entering.

If you are dreaming, you should be writing
For dreams are words we should share
    Sharing makes us all stronger
So thank you for sharing your dreams and words with me

    Judging:
I do agree that sometimes we must travel through hell to reach heaven. I think this would be great if you added to it.

Title: I actually like this title, very fitting.
Content: A bit light on the content yet the poem was very direct.
Imagery: Imagery could be somewhat more yet this was not an imagery poem.
    Grammar: Grammar appears good.
Flow : Flow was good and consitent.
A goal is a dream with a deadline.

Congratulations on the award! All So True! Even in our living Hell, Heaven does exist. Peace on Earth, Good Will toward Men! A way of life, not a cliche. Hopefully one day it will be reached, slowly our ways of thinking are changing for the better of all.

I liked how you say 'rolling a bolder uphill' because I can imagine thats impossible or very difficult to do. Your poems are very colorful and paint a naked canvas of rainbow colors.

    • “I liked how you say 'rolling a bolder uphill' because I can imagine thats impossible or very difficult to do.”

If you can imagine that, then imagine reaching the top just to see it fall once more. What a cruel and horrible punishment.

I love the Analogy in this comment. You really are an artist.
