She told me to grow up.
So grow up I must.
Must out grow my childish ways,
Must out grow my lust.
Out grow friendship, compassion, and trust.
Out grow my love,
and out grow my pain,
out grow the memories I have when it rains.
I've grown past my anger,
grown past the lies.
Grown through the hello, how ya doin', and goodbyes.
I've grown into something,
I never wanted to be.
By growing into an adult,
I've lost the child in me.

who's the she??
in the first line, "she told me to grow up" um...i'm sorry but, the jc i know doesn't say "how high" when a girl says "jump"
he asks "why" first, then decides...
i love you sweetie, and i gotta say, you haven't, and won't ever, lose anything you weren't willing to throw away....
know what i mean??

the style you chose to use, and the slight rhyming, makes it seem more honest, and heartfelt.
This is great, and I'm still pretty young, but I understood exactly what you meant by this poem. -
very nice i love how you explained growing up as a growing experience this is well done keep up the great work....

"I've grown into something,
I never wanted to be.
By growing into an adult,
I've lost the child in me."
I loved the message. Most adults tend to forget the great things about childhood. I'm only sixteen, but I wish I would act a little more child like. I've never actually had a 'normal' childhood. Great write. Loved it (:

Wow I know how this feels. I have to grow up. I'm moving out soon. I cant be a child anymore. Sucks and I hate it but its what I must do.

Honestly...I think I am doing this right now in my life. Growing into an adult can be nerve racking. Things you humble yourself for or give up and let go of is a part of maturity. No one ever said it was easy...Rome was not built in a day you know.
