The Green Kid

eyes watering
cheeks bulged
we all knew what was to come
he leaned over
hair pulled back
ready to let it all go

we stood there
in the lunch line
disgusted by the sight
my stomached curled as well
so when he was finished we asked him
"What did u eat?!"
he looked up
eyes watered and red
seconds passed full of curiosity
"nachos" he said
and at that moment the line was cleared
and thank the gods this had happened
because i was next...
to buy nachos

Someone should inspect the cafeteria's kitchen. Happens here, too. Loved your poem!

Laughed at this and thought how true this could be because most kids complain about the school cafeteria no matter where they live. A wonderful 'lil slice of life and good use of the "green" theme.
