Celestial Impatience

Missing image
I am a dormant marker on a double helix
that has, as of yet, not been looked at
nor called upon to awaken
with but a blink of divinity's eye.

A celestial child still maturing
in the daisy chain, of the human g-nome.

How long until it’s my turn
to shine with the mind of God?

  • A question I think we can all ask in this day and age.

You have taken this prompt seriously and handled it well.

nor called upon to awaken with but a blink of divinities eye.

divinity's eye I think it might be instead.

Celestial Impatience is and excellent title. I loved it. This one makes you think and the image is almost eerie yet is compelling to the meat of your poem.

All in all a very good presentation. Thank you for a lovely entry. Best of luck in the judging. ~Pamela

  • This leaves me with mixed feelings. Would any child really want that, or any grownup really?

Just a thought. It's a though provoking piece.

  • Very nice. I love the picture.. it made me laugh but then I looked at the poem and it has me in some deep thought. Great work. Good luck in the contest. kahy

Who can shine with the mind of God but God himself? Wouldn't the world be lovely if we could though? I really like this write a lot. Great use of vocabulary. I guess people that don't know what the double helix is will ask ...
