Addiction Alcoholic Stop

all I know of Daddy is drugs.
Daddy loves cannabis more than he does us.
Don't you want to play? I often come to ask him
It's just a little puff now surely that's no sin?
Can't he see what's happening to his body and his mind
The worst of all is my big brother may leave the drugless life behind.
It doesn't matter he seems not to realise,
On taking these drugs he is slowly going to die.
Nobody can stop him from what he is doing to himself.

And Mummy isn't much better too
Lush the grown ups call her - i don't know what to do.
Curled up crying after drinking 2 bottles of wine,
Oh I know deep down that she isn't fine.
Her excuse is she can't put up with Daddy's drug taking
Oh but not once does she look at the disaster she's creating.
Looking after her is no optional for my father he will just walk away,
Instead leaving her to drink her life away again.
Can't they see how it breaks me inside?

So Mummy and Daddy take a good look,
The daughter you love is broken and shook.
Only proper help, love and hard work
Put's us as back together without trouble to lurk.

  • Gosh, this is so emotive. Really raw and captivating. It almost hurt to read the way you made it sound like innocence was speaking it. Amazing.
