There was a girl who was nice
And came from a big city,
She went to the country side
To see there just how pretty
Were the trees and the pale moon
By lightless roads so gritty.
The moon shared it's wan light
Most charitably with her
So that she prayed for more
And hoped to gain much insight.
Now when the lights go down there
She has only moon for sight.
The once haughty city girl
Has been humbled by new care,
Under suns hope and joy
May someday find love to share,
Along the leaf strewn brown roads
She'll find her path more fair.
