There goes black eyed Susan,
with pigtails in her hair.
Flowing golden locks on head
and a smile you must adore.
There goes black eyed Susan,
with her head held high.
She looks as if she is 14,
around the same as I.
There goes black eyed Susan,
she looks oh so alone.
She seems to be quite clever,
I don't think she has a home.
There goes black eyed Susan,
a friend close to my heart.
Black eyed Susan and I,
will never be apart.
