I run away to see if someone will notice.
I run away to see if someone will worry.
I run away to see if someone will follow.
And tonight,
If indeed tonight will ever come,
I will flee this harsh reality once more,
And await my savior in silence.
May my selfish dream come true,
Regardless of my reasons.
With my greedy sorrow besieging,
Is there time enough to question?
And tonight,
If indeed tonight will ever come,
I will flee this harsh reality once more,
And await my savior in silence.
Because...
I run away to see if someone will follow.
I run away to see if someone will worry.
I run away to see if someone,
If anyone, will even notice.
Tonight I flee;
Catch me if you can...
If you dare.
I run away to see if someone will worry.
I run away to see if someone will follow.
And tonight,
If indeed tonight will ever come,
I will flee this harsh reality once more,
And await my savior in silence.
May my selfish dream come true,
Regardless of my reasons.
With my greedy sorrow besieging,
Is there time enough to question?
And tonight,
If indeed tonight will ever come,
I will flee this harsh reality once more,
And await my savior in silence.
Because...
I run away to see if someone will follow.
I run away to see if someone will worry.
I run away to see if someone,
If anyone, will even notice.
Tonight I flee;
Catch me if you can...
If you dare.
Author notes
I was not going to post this poem, but I did so anyway at the urging of my closest friend. I am not really satisfied with the end result; although this poem evolved from random musings during class, so I'm not sure how different the end result could be anyway. I am hoping for some feedback with some constructive criticism so that I may be able to improve this piece.
Not much confidence in this poem...

I took a whole lot of pills once...not enough to finish me off, but just to see if anyone would notice...
they did pump my stomach out tho, but afterwards someone said to me, "ok, so I'm impressed...if you're looking for attention, you got it...now you can pack your gear and hit the road..."
well, that left a distinct impression on me too, another lesson learned...lol
so these days, I spend a lot of time on my own where no-one can see or hear me, talking to my maker whoever he is, someday it'll all make sense...I hope
I can't revise your poem that's your job, all I can say, is it speaks volumes, I'm glad I came accross it
Take care
John
