    Rest In Peace Dear Soldier

Don't cry to me about innocence lost
when your innocence was never an issue

Don't raise your fist to me about the cost
when your actions and words reveal you

You send your children into the streets
armed with mass destruction

Wail and weep tears of defeat
we all know that killing is your sole intention

You twist the words of a holy man
for your own powerful gain

Then you claim you live by the Koran
when your actions are that of a feign

I humbly warn you now as I write this obvious reality
You are not a Christain!
When you live and die with such bloody brutality.

Author notes

I am so sick and tired of all the blurring of the issues!
Honestly! I don't give rats ass as to why Bush sent the troops over there!
I don't care what his agenda was, the fact remains that bitch laden killed innocent people and if he was made available for justice then many lives would have saved!
You will NEVER see me hide and give aid to anyone, even if I love them if it meant that many others would die.
I would hurt and I would suffer if I had to hand someone I love over to justice but I would hurt and suffer if someone I loved caused mass destruction!
I would NEVER send or allow anyone else to send a child or other innocent into the streets with the intention of killing.
I may be pissing some people off with this but I don't care!
You know why I don't care? Because I was born and raised in America, I have the right to think, feel and SAY what I want without concern over whether or not terrorists with black sacks over their heads are going to kick in my door and cause a bloody massacre of those I love.

I don't plan to revise this poem!
It is written exactly as it should!

I wonder what the likes of Hodges & some others would say to this. There is so much denial about certain aspects of that war by some. & many on here harte my country. It would be interesting to see thier comments.

    • Thanx Bob, Although I am always ready to give some jerk a good ol' fashioned smack down when it comes to the topics of War and thug cops, I highly doubt that any here on this site will make their fantasies of bull shit available to be stripped down and burried beneath the b.s. they spout.
Thank you again and thank you for being a sensible man who knows the difference between right and wrong.

      Take care

    WONDERFUL POEM!!!!!!!!!!

Good Morning, You have spoken nothing but the truth here and I commend you for writing your true feeling. So many people are afraid to speak there mind.History has a way of repeating itself, lets hope this administation remembers that. Let us never forget 911 just as we should never forget Pearl Habor. I support our troops no matter why they are there and will always be proud of them. Thank you for this amazing poem. Bless You, Sandy

    STRAIGHT TO THE POINT!!!

I am afraid this world is cruel and destructive. Even this country may have had it's own agenda, I do know a couple of people from that area and they are simple people just like us, all they want to do is live happy and free. It is so sad that a few overshadow the many. 's

Yes the world is cruel, some more cruel than others and even more who are backwards deviants,
I too know some people who are from the middle east and two of which whom are Iraqi, that happen to agree with me 100%.
I understand what you mean by the few who overshadow the many but I have to include my two cents...
I will compare it to American cops.
Nearly every day I engage into conversations with cops who claim they are good, honest men and women who only follow the law.
I have to point out that while they themselves may not be out shooting and killing or beating children into submission, planting evidence and theiving, they do turn the other cheek when they see their co-workers/brothers, sisters in blue doing those things.
They know of or have witnessed criminal cops in action yet they do and say nothing, for fear of being the outsider of their clique.
This makes them just as culpable as the cops who actually physically commit acts against humanity.

So this same rule would apply to those who hide the criminals such as the taliban.
Some may say that the people are so supressed that they fear standing up to them, and I would say that I understand that and I honestly feel terrible for those people but American history proves that if you never stand up to make life altering or even life sacrificing changes then America would still be engaged in the slave trading business.
It wasn't an outside source that came in and free'd the thousands of men, women and children but the people here at home who stood up said enough is too much!
If any people in history were supressed it would be the people who were forced into slavery, and they still managed to fight back and take what was theirs!

And I will point out one thing which I disagree with you at a billion %!
AMERICA did not have it's own agenda, perhaps the Bush administartion did but ALL the Americans that I know were enraged and demanding that our country's government send the troops over to ensure that it NEVER happens again.
The oil part of it sux but war sux and WE DID NOT START IT, we are finishing it though.

It's never a good idea to bring a knife to gun battle, and those who make that mistake need to learn from it and spread the word.

I hope you don't read this and think that I am attacking you because it's not my intention, I respect you very much and value your opinion; I am just very passionate of my views regarding terrorism, both here at home as well over seas.

      Much Respect,
      Knickerdew

You don't need to comment on any of my poems; I just like to stop by shameless because I know how hard it is to get comments sometimes. Your welcome to read if you want, but not obligated. Without getting political, I will say that your poem (although more strongly worded) reminded me a bit of "Death of an Irish Airman." I think by Yeats, but I also think I may be wrong. Anyway, you felt strongly about your topic, you got your point across to your reader, and you stuck to your guns. That takes a lot of guts in my book.
    Keep writing, poet.

Thank you, I appreciate you taking a moment to read and comment.
This was written in a moment of extreme frustration over a member of AP posting "Anti America".
This being the reason behind the strong words and not so tenderly put opinions/facts.
I know the American government is by no means perfect and has let many of it's own countrymen and women down but I'll be damned if I'll allow someone of radical beliefs to bad mouth my home and the soldiers that die for us AND ironically for 'them'too.
Amyway... thanx again for reading and it'll be my pleasure to read some of your writing.
