The Way I See It (Sometimes)

Truth is a universe
time and times away
which we cannot rightly perceive

and love, a concept
that has not
fully come to be.

Life must be a metaphor
with lines that
breathe and walk

and faith,
a fleeting comforter-
much needed brave talk.

  • oooo
    me like-e like-e
    nice rhyme
    lovely flow
    good point!!!
    i really like this

  • Lots of food for thought here in few simple words.
The overall rhythm of the poem makes a nice read.

  • "Life must be a metaphor
    with lines that
    breathe and walk"

Thank god for that... only the insane deal in absolute. I used to be insane by that definition.

The first and fourth stanzas really stand-out to me. I felt the ending gives strong impact and actually
strengthens that above (although I would not
call it weak by any means). I wasn't too crazy with
"is as a" as it caused me to stumble in my reading flow. I do see what you are going for but thought
I would mention how that particular arrangement caused hesitation in the read. Blue

Excellent. I enjoyed this read. Well done.

  • Very deep

and philosophical here my friend! I like this & am perplexed over the ending. Our faith is a comforter surely, especially if based on truth, but why the last line :

much needed brave talk. ??? With solidly based faith why would brave talk be needed? I think I know what you're going to say here as I write this but would like to hear your answer. I think I'm seeing that last line as

much needed, brave talk! I also think I need to rest. Good going here Amber.

    ahhhhh, the Irish say...
it's not a lie if you believe it...
    And your right lass,
    love is concept,
cause we never let it stick around long enough to let it grow.
    Very philosophical with great sophistication.
    You are a poet indeed,
you must have some Irish in ya.

    Bless you little gypsy,
    Lowell

    • So....

now I get it! All the lassies are gypsies. No wonder all the ladies fall for you. There's nothing like a male poet who knows how to write, listen & communicate & give a soft word. Running from love eh? Slow down & let it catch ya.

  • I love every word of this.
All of the truth and utter magnificence is pulled through in such a concise write.

All I can do is let this write sink into my mind - it's incredible.

    Adore this write! (:

i think this poem is great. The extended metaphors are rich and unique whilst giving true meaning, very wise.
